Bonnet Girls Seasons

Seasons come and go, and  the Bonnet Girls always have something to do!

Most of the patterns below are double block size.




Bonnet Girls Apple Orchard Bonnet girls making apple butter
Apple Orchard         $13.50

Abby, Marge and Grace enjoy a brisk fall afternoon in the Apple orchard. Shadow appliqué is used as the sky, clouds and ground. Satin stitched red apples fill the baskets. 

Apple Butter         $13.50

Hester stirs a brimming pot of hot, delicious apple butter while Dorothy and Josie taste a sample. The three different styles of bonnets are accented with ribbons and embroidery floss hair.

Day in the Park         $13.50

Clara and Edward spend a lovely fall day in the park. The ironwork park bench Clara sits on is completed with embroidery. 

Gold metallic embroidery floss accents her dress and parasol handle. The sky and ground are shadow appliqué. 

Edward holds his hat with his gloved hand. 

 

Ride in the Park         $13.50

Louise pedals on her bicycle for a ride in the park where she finds Diana.

Shadow applique is used in the sky and bicycle path. 

Bushes and trees help to hide the cat that is waiting to trip her!

Picnic in the Summer         $13.50

Polly and Edith spread out the table cloth which is constructed separately and attached for a 3-D effect. 

 

Agnes holds a luscious bowl of fresh com on the cob while baby Hallie waits patiently. T

he dresses are enhanced with embroidery to simulate pleats and ruffles. 

Shadow appliqué is used in the sky

 

Twins        $13.50

Kate and Brett and their baby twins are ready for an afternoon stroll. 

This block might represent Helen Scott's version for the ending of Gone with the Wind? 

Gathered lace trims the layette for the Twins while double layers of embroidery complete the carriage handle.   Their home is faintly quilted in the background and a stone fence completes the landscape.

Harvest         $13.50

Elvira and Willard check out the summer corn to see if it is ready. Young Willie is holding an ear of corn and is ready to eat!  

Shadow applique is used in the road and farm ground.

Mid Summer          $13.50

Arila reads a book in the shade of the appliqué trees while Carlotta shades her skin from the sun with an umbrella.

A stone fence and gate define the garden area and shadow appliqué is used in the sky.

Masquerade Ball     $6.50

Masquerade balls can be held any time of the year, but especially on New Years Eve and Halloween. The unknown bonnet girl has her face covered with a masque. Her costume is accented with metallic embroidery thread.

 

Halloween     $11.00

Ghosts and Goblins are out tonight in this seasonal quilt. It could be made into a wall hanging.  The ghost  is walking on the brick fence and pumpkins accent the background. Shadow appliqué is used in the sky and moon.

Apple Valley          $13.50

Mariah and Samuel are picking apples to me made into apple juice or cider.  A full basket of apples sits under the apple tree while Samuel takes a break. 

Shadow appliqué is used in the sky and landscape areas.

Thanksgiving    $6.50

Clover has just caught Robby stealing the turkey drumstick!  

Lace is used to accent the Thanksgiving table.

Ribbon or lace is used on the bonnet for an appliqué accent.
