The Bonnet Girls Neighborhood & Town

The  Bonnet Girls neighborhood is in a busy town. 

Factories, churches, flower girls, teachers and schools, Tilly's Hat Shop, the doctor, pharmacy, corner grocery, tearooms can all be found  in the Neighborhood & Town quilt pattern sets.

 The size of these patterns are all double block size 

22 inches high x 30 inches wide , including the 1/4 inch seam allowances.

The Doctor       $13.50

Leanne has brought  the baby in for her checkup and Jessica is trying to make her smile. Scott is dragging his feet as Annabelle takes him  to the doctor for his shots!  The cat calmly sits on the step waiting to get inside the door.  

 

Down Town       $13.50

Blanche is pushing a baby carriage and meets with Dory, Ann and Flo while she is shopping.  Downtown stores are visible in the background.

Embroidery is used to make the wheels in the baby buggy carriage.

Corner Grocery       $13.50

Joyce and Ida check out the fresh corn from the basket, while Patty and Mary Ruth eye the apples in the bushel basket.   The building and window make up the background. Shadow appliqué is used in the sky.

 

Tilly's Hat Shop       $13.50

Liza, Laura Lee and Amealia gazing longingly in the Hat Shop window at a new Blue Bonnet!  The shop can be brick, wood or stone.

Embroidery floss is used for the hair.

The Pharmacy on the Corner      

  $13.50

Tom, Rachel, Helen and Jonathan are on their way to the corner pharmacy to see Jack  the pharmacist. The dog is on a leash and has boots!  Items from the corner store hang in the window. 

Brick fabric is used in the building.

 Embroidery floss is used for the hair.

 

The Tearoom   

    $13.50

Marilyn and Madelyn are taking Edna and Mabel to the tearoom for tea and cookies. 

A fabric that resembles stained glass  will be needed for the window. Trees and bushes show against the shadow appliqué sky and ground.

The Hospital       $13.50

Pauline, Christine and Valeria  are on their way to the hospital to visit and bring a flower bouquet.  A small box of flowers sits on the sidewalk. Two nuns are visible behind the brick wall. 

Brick fabric will be needed for the building and wall.  Embroidery floss is used for the hair.

 

Teachers       $13.50

Miss Dupree and Miss Whittenburg look at Joan's paper while Lillian and Greg talk about their paper. 

The school in the background is surrounded by bushes and quilting defines the sidewalk. 

Flesh colored fabric will be needed for the faces.

Moving Day       $13.50

Leta Irene, Eula Katherine, Robert and Maggie the dog wave goodbye to the mule drawn wagon.  

Embroidery floss is used to make the wheels on the wagon and the hair showing through the bonnet.  Shadow appliqué is used in the sky and ground.

 

The Church       $13.50

Teressa, Marjorie, Bootsie, and Norma are headed to church dressed in their finest.  Lace, ribbon and embroidery floss will be needed to embellish the bonnets and dresses.   Fabric that resembles Stained glass will be needed for the church windows. Quilting defines the sidewalk to the church and shadow appliqué  is used in the sky and sidewalk.

The Foundry       $13.50

Minnie, Nell, Nettie and Ruth pass by the foundry with their grocery shopping bags and see Mr. and Mrs. Simpson in the background. 

 Embroidery floss will be needed for the baby carriage wheels.  

A stone fabric defines the building.

 

School Days       $13.50

Miss Royce stands in the brick schoolhouse door while Molly drags Charles to the door.  Jimmie, Annabel and Jane are excited. 

 The movers in the background are carrying chairs and other items from the house. Bushes give depth and dimension. Quilting on the shadow appliqué defines the sidewalk and steps.

Flesh colored fabric for the faces and brick fabric for the schoolhouse will be needed.

Vendor       $13.50

Roseanna the flower vendor has a tray and basket full of flowers to sell to Carlie and Arabella. The baby seems to be excited also.  

Heavy shadow appliqué gives a feeling of wind to the design. 

Green fabric will be needed for the appliqué tree.

 Flesh colored fabric will be needed for the hands.  Embroidery floss is needed for the hair.

Flower Girl      $13.50

Flora takes her flower cart to the residential area and offers to let Lynette smell her floral bouquet.  

The cart and the wheels are made of scraps rather than embroidery. 

 Heavy shadow appliqué in the sky makes it appear windy.
