Civil War Series

The Civil War Series represents many of the events that happen anytime loved ones leave and return from unhappy events that take them away from home.

They are double blocks and are  22" high by 30" wide, including 1/4 inch seam allowances.

Maribelle hides behind her fan and says a last good bye to Hamilton. Shadow applique from the Ladies Day Out book is used for the sky and  column shadows. Quilting is used to outline the blocks in the porch.

Elliot gives Joanna a big good bye kiss as the train comes into the station. Rose ties May's bonnet while Todd waves at the train. Shadow appliqué is used to show the train tracks, sky and ground.

Lillian watches as Carlotta and Palmer say goodbye in a last waltz.  William and Barbara say their farewells in the background. Appliquéd silk ribbon embellishes the dresses. Quilting and shadow appliqué outline the walls.

Emma Jane helps John Ebben down the street as they greet Sibyl. Three different colored silk ribbons are braided to embellish the bonnet. Sibyl also has a parasol.
